Well, Camp Tweet was a success! Grandchildren Landen and Raleigh came and stayed with us for a week. We were sooo busy - swimming, library activities, reading, painting, drawing, hiking, fishing, boating, picnicking, and playing! We all had so much fun - can hardly wait to do it again next summer. Next year, I'm having Camp Tweet 2019 T-shirts made. (Tweet is what they call me.)
Thanks to Mom and Daddy's wonderful neighbors, my husband, and my friends, I was able to slip away for a week and join Taylor, Rachael, Landen, and Raleigh at Emerald Isle, NC. The tradition continues with trips to Emerald Isle to my aunt and uncle's (now deceased
and passed down to my cousins) beach house with the grandchildren. I remember taking my boys like it was yesterday! A new generation enjoying the beach and spending time with family. We had such a wonderful time! Eating seafood, playing on the beach, fishing in the sound, playing games at night. We went to Beaufort to check out the Pirate Invasion which was a lot of fun. I think Landen was more impressed meeting Darth Vader than he was by the pirates roaming around town.
I thoroughly enjoyed my visit Peggy at The Salty Sheep yarn shop in Swansboro. Open ten years, I remember my first visit to her shop in 2008. This shop is just darling and absolutely loaded
with gorgeous yarn and samples. It is definitely a must-visit for any knitter in
the area.
While at the beach, I completed a large cowl and four smaller ones for the grandchildren. Other projects completed include a pair of socks last month and a shawl (to be blocked tomorrow). I have an impressive line-up of "next knits". I never lack for a project!
Mom continues her recovery from her 60+ days in the hospital this year. It's been a tough year to say the least. She has Cardiac Rehab three times per week. Even though they have spaced out some, she has other appointments, as well. I have taken FMLA from work and I'm not sure I'll be able to return. I have a new full-time job - taking care of Mom and Daddy! Mom feels guilty about it but I wouldn't have it any other way!
Leaving you with a sunset over the Bogue Sound at Emerald Isle, NC. The Crystal Coast - one of my truly happy places!
