It always feels good to finish a project. Especially when you have many more in the works!
I am no fan of blocking. It seems to take forever!
So, today, I got these two projects onto the blocking mats first thing this morning.
One thing I discovered --- I need a bigger bed for blocking my knitted pieces! This is a full size bed in one of the guest rooms and the blocking mats are hanging over the edges.
First, I soaked both pieces in Eucalan then rolled each one in a thick thirsty towel. Finally, I gathered the mats, wires, and T-pins and off I went! Hours and hundreds of T-pins later......
First - September Circle. I saw this cowl on display at Hive on the Creek in Ketchikan, Alaska during our knitting cruise in August 2017. I loved it and purchased the same colorway of Zauberball it was knit from. It was a fun and easy knit and I know I will get a lot of wear out of it next autumn.
Second - Reyna Shawl. I found the sock yarn before I ever found this
pattern. I LOVE this sock yarn - the colors!!!!!! LOVE THEM! This is Opal Sock Yarn from their Rainforest Collection named Kongo-Sally. The shawl was fun to knit and I used almost two full skeins. I used the stitch patterns in the pattern but kind of adjusted the number of rows of each pattern repeat. The shade of green in this yarn is my absolute favorite and I'll get a lot of use out of this shawl. Can hardly wait to wear it!
What to knit next?? No worries, I have PLENTY of projects in the works. The decision will be which one to pick up next! Tune in again to see!
Great projects! I used to put my blocking mats on the floor or the dining room table, but our newest cat is a yarn menace, so I have to use the extra bedrooms and keep the doors closed.
