Happy Memorial Day, everyone! Hope you celebrated in fine style - parades, memorials, picnics, family and
friends, remembering and thanking those who have served our country.
Andy and I worked all weekend. I finally got into the gardens and pots. I planted the two pots on the back patio and the two beside the front door. I potted Lemongrass and two Lemon Verbenas. These will be dried to use in my soaps along with my Scented Geraniums, Spearmint, Chocolate Mint, and Lemon Balm. I filled in the garden where the bird feeding station is with eight or so new plants. I dug up the bulbs and planted them in the front and I dug up some Shasta Daisies and moved them. I also planted three cucumber plants, one yellow squash, one zuchini, two large tomato plants and one cherry tomato plant, and three cabbage plants. I also sowed some radish seeds.
Here are the two pots on either side of the front door. I saved the robin's nest and planted around it. She abandoned the eggs. I hope I can keep them without them getting broken. If you look closely at the picture on the left, you'll see the white ribbon the robin incorporated in her nest. At one end of the ribbon is a deflated balloon. Wonder where in the world she found that?
Yesterday, we went to Marian's and loaded the trailer with an L-shaped desk, a metal cabinet, a 50" square fabric table, and an Arctic Cat battery car. Marian and her family are moving and she previously gave me the little car and wagon for the grandchildren.
I've been wanting an L-shaped desk for a very long time and spent the whole day today organizing the office. Hauled out three large garbage bags of junk! The desk space is wonderful!!!! I operate two computers on my work desk plus my date book and work papers. The computer desk I had was so small that one of the computers was balanced off the edge of the desk. The drawers held all my work forms and personal papers, too. The 50" square table is going to take some work but eventually, it will go in the soap studio and be my main work table. It will be great! We got the Arctic Cat in hopes that the grandchildren will come to visit sometime and will enjoy riding around. We have a great space for that.
Hurray for four day work weeks!!! Hopefully, next weekend will be a soapy one!
