Handcrafted Soap Maker and Fiber Artist
I am a fiber lover - love the texture, the color, and the finished product. My first experience with handwork was with stamped on cross-stitch and embroidery as a child. Then, I progressed to years of counted cross-stitch. I went on to learn knitting, needlepoint, crewel, tatting, weaving, spinning (drop and wheel), and rug making (hooked/braided/twined). When I learned how to make soap, I became absolutely addicted! So, at present, you will find me knitting or spinning and making soap every spare moment I can find. I also enjoy dabbling in watercolor, gardening, photography, and so many other things!
In September 2009, I moved to Ohio from Virginia. This was a BIG change for me as I'd lived in Virginia all my life. Now, my parents and my sons are all about a 9 hour drive away. Too far! So, instead of remodeling our 219 year old Virginia house, I'm now trying to whip this 2003 Ohio house into shape. I am a registered nurse and work in case management.
