I have many many many projects in progress. WIP = Works In Progress.
I am trying very hard to turn my WIPs into finished pieces.
This past week, I finished/blocked two WIPs and am concentrating on two more which I think I can finish fairly quickly. Photo to the right is one finished piece - Reyna Shawl in Opal Sock Yarn. I didn't strictly follow the directions and repeated the two pattern sections as I liked and bound off using a picot bind-off.
The weather here continues to be absolutely wacky! Temperatures range from in the 20s to 70
with torrential rain, high wind, sunshine, snow, and tornadoes. Hopefully, Mother Nature will figure it out soon and my daffodils will brave the weather and bloom.
The Killdeer (masters of camouflage) have once again built a nest and laid eggs (always four) in the gravel parking area in the back of our house. Good thing they picked the only high spot as the rest is very very wet. These nutty birds cause me great anxiety every year as their nest is out in the open - easy pickins for raccoons and any other egg-eating varmints in the area. I worry about them all the time. They're out in the snow and sleet of last night, the rains that come and go. They have built here just about every one of the nine years we've lived here but have only successfully hatched out the eggs once (if I'm remembering correctly). They're a delight to watch when they hatch! They look like little pom poms with legs and start running around immediately. They scurry
around always staying close to mom.
In the meantime, Buster comes in periodically to warm up and peers outside wondering, "What in the world......?"
