The first two weeks of October have come and gone. Wow! Time moves so fast! Life seems to be moving at warp speed these days with work and trying to be Mom and Daddy's go-between with the new home here in Ohio. They are very busy back in Virginia sorting through and deciding what to move with them to Ohio and what to find new homes for. Here, we've had the home inspection and just a few minor things were found. If you're in the Dayton area, I highly recommend Mike Schray with Pillar To Post. He was very thorough and went the extra mile to tag shut off valves, the furnace switch, what kind of filter the furnace uses, etc. This coming Monday is the walk-through with the construction person and our realtor. Hopefully, they won't mind fixing the things we find. Then, closing is set for October 21st. I will sign for Mom and Daddy so they won't have to make the trip back to Ohio. I'll leave with the keys in hand!
I'm so glad I called Nova, the realtor we worked with when we moved to Ohio. She has been SO helpful! I couldn't have done all this without her help and guidance. I love her attention to detail and wouldn't have known where to start! So, if you're in the Dayton area and need a realtor, Nova is top-notch! Here is her link. I've had the pleasure of working with her twice now and can't imagine a better realtor.
Mom and Daddy found a mover who actually lives in their neighborhood and moves people as a side business. He will move them in two trips. Just so happens that he has a son who attends the University of Cincinnati on a football scholarship and he will get to attend a game after unloading the first load in early November. The second load from Virginia will follow in early December. Mom and Daddy will be leaving Virginia and arriving in Ohio on my birthday, December 6th. I can hardly wait! I think I might drive down and follow them back up on the 6th.
On top of everything else, you'll find me at two shows this weekend and next. This Sunday, October 13th, from 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM, I'll be set up in Middletown, Ohio for The Knitting Connection Yarn Market. This is a small show put on by a local knitting guild. It is held at Miami University - Middletown in the Miriam D. Knoll Community Room. If you are interested in coming, please leave me a comment and I will email you the exact address. Then, next Saturday, on October 19th, Secret Garden on Hwy 73 in Waynesville is having a Fall Festival. Weather permitting, I will be set up there from 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM. My booth will be stocked full of lots of soap including five different kinds of beer soap. I'll also have lotions, bath salts, sugar scrubs, lip butters, fragrance misters, pottery, ceramic, and wooden soap decks/dishes, handknit washcloths and baby hats, etc.
I've posted a few pictures here of soap that will be available at the upcoming shows. Top to bottom / left to right - Oak, Orange, & Oats, Autumn Energy, Pumpkin Lager, Fresh Bamboo & Avocado, and Peach, Magnolia, & Raspberry.
Hope to see you at one of the shows listed above! You can also visit my Etsy shop - Bird Bath Essentials (RobinsNest6) .
