I realized I haven't updated you all on the house painting progress in a bit. That is moving right along, also. We've taken all the shutters off the house now and like it better without them. That's good because we really didn't want to put shutters back up. We also removed all the railings and will not replace them, either. The posts are splitting so we're going to box them in and make the posts a little fatter. The will be painted with the Galliant Gold. Some of you have asked about the colors. They are all Sherwin Williams. Andy prefers Sherwin Williams over all other paints so everything we paint is with their paints. The green is Palm Leaf, the gold is Galliant Gold, and the orange is Earthen Jug. The sun is rising behind the house so this picture is a little dark.
We had a long-legged visitor yesterday on the pond. I loved watching him! He can stand in the water without moving a feather for forever! When he walks, he s-l-o-w-l-y lifts one leg and steps. He stayed for about thirty minutes and walked all around the edge of the pond. He favors the area closest to the house where the water is more shallow. This photo is a little fuzzy because I've cropped it so closely.
Lots going on in the area today! The 44th Sauerkraut Festival is in Waynesville, the Yellow Springs Street Fair in Yellow Springs, and just a beautiful day to be outdoors enjoying the gorgeous weather!
Me? I'll be in the soap studio all day making new batches of soap and wrapping / boxing cured soap for tomorrow's and next Saturday's shows.
I'll also have tubs of laundry detergent in three fragrances. This is low sudsing powdered detergent and is great for all HE washing machines.
Happy fall weekend to everyone!
