I'm in a state of disbelief that it is October 31st! Seriously, where has this year gone? It seems as if life is stuck on fast forward these days.
Today is Halloween! So, BOO! and Happy Halloween! Andy's company had a pumpkin decorating contest. Each department on each shift could enter but the pumpkin could not be carved. The prize was a pizza party for first place. Here is Andy's department / first shift's entry --- a Minion! Isn't he cute!!!!! He has a packet of Advil in his little pocket and has his hand on his head like he has a headache. He's such a party animal! They used a LED light for his eye and if you push the button, he blows the party horn he's holding in his mouth. I think they did a great job! They won second place and are treating themselves to a pizza party anyway.
Update on Mom and Daddy's move --- They are in a sea of boxes. Chris, the fellow who is moving them, is busily packing the first of two loads. The plan is to bring the first load to Ohio in one more week. Once that is done, I think it will be a little easier - not be quite so overwhelming. At least I'm hoping. There's so much stuff to go through and what to do with it all is the million dollar question.
Here in Ohio, I'm trying to oversee everything to get their condo move-in ready. Window treatments are due to be installed next week. Then, the refrigerator will be delivered. Finally, a water softener needs to be installed. That should be everything --- just wait for the moving truck and try to put things in place for them as much as possible. I'll be SO glad when they finally get here and can relax.
I haven't made soap since mid-September but that will change this weekend. It will be soapmania here Saturday and Sunday. Got the end of the month out of the way for work so this weekend is ALL MINE!
I went to Columbus last week for work and just so happened to pass Knitting Temptations on my way to the hotel. Temptations is such a cute shop and located in a cute town (Dublin, OH). I got some wonderful cashmere yarn for some cowls but that will be another post.
They had the cutest yarn bowls displayed and in use all over the store. I wanted them to be knit but they were not. They were crochet! Someone needs to convert this pattern!
The pattern is Yarn Bowlz and can be found on Ravelry for FREE! I used Malabrigo Rios on a size G crochet hook and used less than one skein. The pattern has a little buttonhole worked into one side so you can thread your yarn through it. The loop is actually for attaching the Yarn Bowlz to your belt or something else. I'm going to use the loop to thread my yarn through since I don't like to be permanently attached to the yarn bowl for the life of my project. I love this yarn colorway! Reminds me of watercolor painting. Beautiful jeweltone colors.
I'm working fast and furiously on two other projects and really wanted to get to more but I don't think I'm going to make it. These are for Christmas gifts but since I have to gift them the week of Thanksgiving, my time is going to be cut short.
This fall, our Burning Bush hedge has really shown off! It has been beautiful! What a gorgeous color!!!
Hope your fall is colorful in your part of the world.
Stay tuned for this weekend's soapmania!!!!
