In cleaning the house a few weeks ago in anticipation of the arrival of Rachael, Taylor, and Landen, I found a finished shawl in a project bag just waiting to be blocked. I'd rather be beat with a noodle than to block a shawl. Don't know why - I guess because it's just so tedious.
But block it I did and it's very pretty! I love the color - a little different for me and a color that I don't have a lot of other knit items in.
The pattern is Beautiful Cobweb Shawl and can be found on Ravelry. It was an easy knit and a very good pattern.
I have several projects underway - the Tweed Baby Blanket and a pair of daffodil booties for our newest
grandchild. I'm on the lace edge of the baby blanket so it won't take too much longer. I'm also almost finished with the Clapotis I started several months ago. I've been turning out knitted washcloths like crazy because I can knit them without any though while I sit in doctors' offices waiting everyday for work. I want to have a good selection going into the holidays.
Andy worked on painting the house all day yesterday and it looks GREAT! What a difference color makes. We removed the shutters from half of the front porch and I don't think we're going to put them back up. We like the house without them. There are lots of windows and it looks less cluttered without the shutters. We're also going to remove all the railings and leave just the posts. We're going to frame up / box in the old posts or replace them (they're all split) so they'll be straight insead of curved. All of these changes plus new light fixtures will make a huge difference.
The goldfinch have been feasting on the sunflowers in the garden. I watched them as I ate lunch today. They were so funny! At one point, there was a goldfinch on each flower. The wind was blowing so they were just riding the flower back and forth - grabbing a seed when they could.
Happy Monday to everyone!
