Our house in Ohio is a funky color. It's supposed to be pale gray, I think. However, people ask us all the time "What color is your house?" because it changes with the light. Sometimes it appears pink, sometimes lavender, and other times pale blue. It very seldom looks gray.
The blah pale whatever color just hurts my personality.
You see --- I LOVE COLOR!
Rich, deep, earthtones.
Brilliant, vibrant jeweltones.
Monday afternoon, I had an appointment for a haircut. Just so happens Sherwin-Williams is right next door.
There was a sign in the window - 40% off SALE! The last day was Monday - yes, that very same day. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Sherwin-Williams for the 40% off!!!
Andy just happened to be with me so we bought paint. We went in and I picked the paint swatches out in about five minutes flat. I've been dreaming of these colors since we moved in in 2009. We got all the gallons untinted except for sample jugs of the three colors I chose. Surprise, Andy didn't fuss one bit about the colors. I must have caught him at a weak moment because my husband is all about blah.
He painted a little of the sample colors on both sides of the house this afternoon - the sunny side and the shady side. I absolutely LOVE THEM!!!!!!
The house will be the dark olive green. The gold will be the majority of the trim. We'll use touches of the terra cotta here and there. Our windows are framed in white vinyl so that will remain white.
Now that the sample swatches are painted on the house, I guess Andy is committed to painting soon. He has a way of waiting to do things but this looks like it just might happen! I really think he just wants to play with the paint sprayer!
What a difference it will make!
