2012 has come to a close tonight.
We had snow flurries again yesterday. No accumulation but no melting of what's already on the ground.
It's a chilly New Year's Eve here in Southwest Ohio. Crisp and cold.
I rode down to the Caesar Creek State Park boat launch that's across the road yesterday. Not a boat in sight.
The rocks along the sides of the road at Caesar Creek Spillway were dripping with icicles. If the weather continues to be cold and wet, the icicles will only get longer and longer in the upcoming weeks.
The road down into the gorge was closed. I really wanted to ride down and take some pictures. Maybe in
a day or two.
We live in an awesome area! The snow just makes it even more so.
There's so much to do - even in the snow. There are areas of the park where you can snowshoe. The hiking trails are wonderful year-round. If you're a birdwatcher, it's heaven. I made a loop around the parking lot at the boat launch and there were so many birds - Juncos, Cardinals, Red-Bellied Woodpeckers, etc.
There were people hiking and I even spotted a snowman built in the middle of one of the fields near the spillway.
So, as 2012 slips out the door and a new year creeps in, I leave you with an inspirational quote from Helen Keller -
"Your success and happiness lies in you. Resolve to keep happy, and your joy and you shall form an invincible host against difficulties."
I wish each of you a very happy 2013!
A New Year where your difficulties are few and your joys and happinesses are many.
Happy New Year!

Happy new year! May 2013 be the best year yet.

LOVELY rock and ice images. I cannot wait to see more!
Fireman and I gave each other walking poles, so we can go out in the snow in our snowshoes and not fall!!
