It will be a quiet one here. The weather is dreary and foggy. Santa Claus will have to use his fog lights in this part of the world tonight.
Mom made a batch of her famous Snappy Cheese Wafers today. I did a report for work. Andy got the snow blower ready - just in case. Daddy read and
watched TV.
Lily - well, Lily did what Lily does best --- she napped. This creature hasn't been stirring all day! Daddy put her sweater on her and we don't know if she's so warm and comfy or she's scared to move but she's warmed her little mat all day.
Earl Gray and Gracie have been in the garage all day in their heated bed. Spoiled rotten kitties!
I'm so happy Mom and Daddy can be here to share the holiday with us. It's fun having them here and I wish they never had to return to Virginia. I can't imagine the holiday without them.
I miss my children - this is the fourth Christmas without seeing them. The holiday is so lacking without them. Big or small, young or old - children add something festive to the mix. Feels like a large hole this year. I would love to have them here. There's so much in the area I would like to show them and experience with them.
Tomorrow morning will bring breakfast and gift unwrapping. Later, dinner at a friend's house. In
between, I suspect will contain some napping and knitting.
What are your plans? Do you celebrate Christmas or another holiday at this time of year?
Be it Christmas or another special event, I wish you the merriest of times. May you find peace and joy and lots of love with family and friends.
Somewhere during the day or evening, may you find a private moment where you can sit in the shadows cast by the lights on the Christmas tree. A moment to reflect - to rest and to breathe. I love that moment. It's a bittersweet moment where another year is almost complete and a new one is but a week away. A feeling of promise.
Merry Christmas, Everyone!!!!!!
