Made three batches of soap yesterday.
Left to right - Sea Salt & Lotus Blossom, Honey Ale, Pumpkin Lager.
The first one was Pumpkin Lager. OMG! This smells like everything I love about autumn rolled into a bar of soap. Well, all except for burning leaves. It's all pumpkin and spice and everything that's nice about fall. I used Sam Adams' Harvest Pumpkin Ale, pureed pumpkin, and pumpkin spice with Pumpkin Lager Fragrance Oil. A nice warm and spicy bar of soap.
Next up, Honey Ale. This is an interesting fragrance. Definitely has a sweetness to it with a light springy note. For this batch, I used Mt. Carmel's India Pale Ale and honey. I love the light color.
Finally, a restock of Sea Salt & Lotus Blossom. This was so popular - it flew off the shelves. I used Sea Salt & Lotus Blossom Fragrance Oil, a lovely light sweet and salty scent, and Shea Butter. Blue Ultramarine was incorporated to create the light blue swirls. To finish up, I topped the loaf off with a generous amount of Pink Himalayan Salt and Coarse Kosher Salt.
Some of the Sea Salt & Lotus Blossom will go on the shelf for sale and some of it is for a special order. I'll cut small pieces and bag them labeled with the name of a specific beach house. They will be gifted to the beach house owners for them to use as guest soaps for their renters. What a great "thank you" gift from someone they let stay at the house for a bit earlier this summer.
On the fiber front, I do still knit!
I'm in baby blanket mode and everyone seems to be having boys!
This is a nice easy, yet interesting, pattern. It's the Sunny Baby Blanket and the pattern is free. I'm about 3/4 done and then it's on to the next blanket. I also need to do the sleeves on Ms. B's sweater jacket and have the yarn to do a hoodie sweater for Landen. There's also a shawlette for me just waiting to be blocked.
So much fun stuff to do!
Happy Labor Day to all of you here in the United States. Having this day off is wonderful! I'm on my way down to the basement. Might make three more batches of soap but am definitely going to continue to try making my dent bigger in going through all the boxes in the basement. Aiming to get the basement - studio - ready by the holidays so I can have an open house. Wish me luck! It's a jungle down there!

Love the soaps! The colors definitely scream fall to me. :)
