Just finished a baby blanket - the Sunny Baby Blanket. This is a great pattern and is a free download on Ravelry. I love using Encore yarn (25% Wool , 75% Acrylic) for baby things. It is so easy to care for. I used four skeins of Encore worsted weight for this blanket.
This particular blanket is a baby gift for my cousin's new grandson, Carter. My cousin has two sons and, like our two sons, both are going to become fathers within months of each other. Carter was born in July and the second grandchild is due in January.
For Kristine's baby shower a few months ago, she requested that everyone bring their favorite childhood books as gifts to start a library for Carter. I am sending two of
my favorites - Love You Forever and Sheep in a Jeep. Nancy Shaw has written a lot of "sheep" books - all great - but the jeep one is my favorite.
Now, to get started on another baby blanket for the January baby!
I also bought two skeins of Encore Chunky to knit the Li'l Man Vest by Spud & Chloe for Landen. Hope an 18 month size fits him. He's growing like a weed!
So many projects, so little time!
Tonight was spinning at Barnes & Noble on Fields Ertel Road. Martha and Kathy were there.
Saturday, TopKnot Suri Farm in Springboro, OH will be hosting an open house. There will be spinning demonstrations, alpaca yarn for sale, tour of the farm and more. This event is in celebration of National Alpaca Farm Day.
Fall arrived as if on cue this week. We've had night temps in the 40's and day temps in the 60's - 70's. And, RAIN!!! Finally! I was worried that the leaves would just dry up and fall off of the trees since we've had such hot and dry weather. The cooler temps and rain have helped and the leaves are changing. I love fall colors! The oranges, golds, deep reds - my color palette.
Here is a sunset this past week.
Mom and Daddy left for Virginia last Monday. Oh, how I wished they lived around the corner. So fun having them here.
Reminder of a couple of things -
