My rug hooking guild, Hookers, Strippers, & Co., threw a party for me today. Barbara was the hostess with the mostest. We had a great turn-out but I missed seeing the few that couldn't make it. Barbara served a beautiful and delicious cake that had "Good Luck Robin" on it, nuts, mints, ham biscuits, crackers with a cheeseball, lemonade or tea. Everything was yummy!!!
The group also presented me with a package. It was a large box but light as a feather. I unwrapped the box and looked inside and there was tons of tissue paper with dollar bills hidden in them. I found fifty one dollar bills! There was also a gift certificate to The Gingerbread House in Danville. The Gingerbread House is a great shop full of all kinds of kitchen and garden stuff, gourmet foods, coffees, and decorative things.
We had such a good time today and I will miss all these terrifically talented ladies. We've hooked together since the early 1990's adding a few new members over the years. They told me that when I plan my visits home, make sure they include the second Saturday - our meeting day.
Andy and his father are back tonight to load the truck up again tomorrow. This will be our third load using the Penske truck. We have another fellow coming to help. The moving company man is coming tomorrow to do another walk-through to give us an estimate.
Mom Update --- Mom is doing well. She attends cardiac rehab twice per week and will soon increase her visits to three times per week. Mom posted a comment to the blog but since I didn't want anyone to miss it, I'll repeat it here --
"To all of Robin's "bloggers" ----
I want to thank all of you for your caring concern, thoughts and prayers before, during and after my surgery!
I'm feeling much better, seeing the "light at the end of the tunnel". I've had two really good nurses, Fred and Robin!!!"
